Das Gelbfieber-Virus ist in tropischen und subtropischen Gebieten in Südamerika und Afrika verbreitet, nicht aber in Asien. (http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gelbfieber - uptodate110401) Michael Brynntrup, seit 2006 Professor für Film und Video an der HBK, ist einer der wichtigsten deutschen Experimentalfilmer und Videokünstler. Neben Filmen und Videoinstallationen umfasst sein Werk Elektrografie, Digitalkunst und Netzkunstprojekte. Inhaltlich kreisen Brynntrups Arbeiten um philosophische Themen und Fragestellungen, handeln von Grenzüberschreitungen, Extremen und Tabus. Im Mittelpunkt der Ausstellung stehen mehrere Videoinstallationen und Fotoarbeiten, die im Werkkomplex „GELBFIEBER“ zusammengefasst sind. „Gelbfieber“ (2011) thematisiert den europäischen Blick auf die Kulturen des so genannten „Fernen Ostens“.
